10th CD Caucus for State Delegates

Description

The Fairfax County Democratic Committee in the Sully District is holding an unassembled caucus at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 16, 2016, for the purpose of electing delegates and alternates to the Congressional District Conventions and the Virginia Democratic State Convention.

Voter check-in will begin promptly at 12:00 noon. Any registered voters within the district will be allowed to vote after completing a Caucus Declaration Form, which includes a signed declaration that they are a registered voter of the District, a Democrat, believes in the principles of the Democratic Party, and that he or she does not intend to support a candidate opposed to the Democratic nominee in the next ensuing [General] election.

The doors to the caucus room will be closed promptly at 2:00 p.m. Persons standing in line to be checked in at the time the doors close will be allowed to complete their forms and participate in the voting.

The filing deadline has passed, and a caucus is required for the voters of the 10th Congressional District within the Sully District. The caucus for voters in the 11th Congressional District within Sully has been canceled.


What is an unassembled caucus?
An unassembled caucus is often also called a “Firehouse Primary”. Voters are welcome to come at any time between noon and 2 pm and vote. It should not take more than a few minutes to vote, and there is no requirement to stay for the duration of the caucus.
